About the Course
This course will cover the basics, from first impressions to preparing a complete audition piece. Students will receive practical information on headshots, resumes, and networking. The course will also focus on basic warm-up tools, from Linklater to Stanislavsky, as well as direction to help you become audition ready. By the end of term each student will have two contrasting monologues that run under two minutes. Class work will consist of coaching and feedback of pieces. The instructor will implement different exercises to help each student achieve their peak performance level. Ample time will be allotted for both one-on-one instruction and whole class instruction. Note: The instructor will help locate appropriate material, but it is requested that students arrive on the first day with two contrasting monologues.
